How many times have we wondered whether or not to attend a concert or sports event, because we weren’t sure whether our friends would be there, too?

Well, Ticketmaster had a very helpful idea and has released a tool that lets you connect to Facebook and know what seats your friends have purchased.

Their improved interactive seating maps allow buyers to tag themselves at their locations, causing small Facebook flags to appear in the event plan.

This tool is now available for over 9,000 events at Ticketmaster and Live Nation, the company that owns the ticket service.

How it works? The map has a filter on its left side where you can see the names of friends who will attend the event. When you click on their names you are shown the seat they purchased. Also, if you mouse over a flag on the map, it shows the name of the friend who will be sitting there.

Now you can choose to go to a show – or not – and sit next to your friends, making the experience even more enjoyable.
